This carefully designed tour offers a deeper connection to the roots and identity of the region, taking guests on a journey through two of Portugal’s most iconic products: cork and Alentejo wine.

The day begins with a visit to Cortiçarte, a cork factory where guests will have the opportunity to discover the fascinating transformation process of cork, from the extraction of the cork oak bark to the creation of a wide variety of final products.

During the visit, guests will learn about the importance of the Alentejo “montado”, one of the world’s most sustainable ecosystems, as well as the fundamental role cork plays in Portuguese culture, tradition, and economy. You will observe the different stages of cork treatment, discover the techniques used throughout the process, and understand why Portugal is the world leader in cork production.

After this immersion into the world of cork, the experience continues to the elegant MAINOVA, a contemporary family-owned estate located in the heart of Alentejo.

Surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, and the peaceful Alentejo landscape, the experience at MAINOVA combines authenticity, sophistication, and a deep connection to nature.

Guests will have the opportunity to explore the estate and discover the philosophy behind MAINOVA, focused on sustainability, responsible production, and showcasing the unique Alentejo terroir. Depending on availability, the experience may include a tour around the property to discover the vineyards, century-old olive trees, animals, and cork oak forest.

The visit is followed by a carefully selected wine tasting paired with regional products, allowing guests to discover the elegance, freshness, and personality of MAINOVA wines.

The experience continues with a traditional Alentejo lunch paired with estate wines, served in a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere — the perfect setting to enjoy the slow rhythm and genuine spirit of Alentejo.
