The full day visit to the Santa Vitória Winery, located at the Hotel Vila Galé Alentejo Vineyards in Santa Vitória, offers an authentic experience of the region’s wine and olive oil traditions. Known for its commitment to sustainable farming and modern production methods, Santa Vitória Winery combines innovation with the essence of Alentejo’s terroir, producing award-winning wines and high-quality olive oil.

The tour begins with a warm welcome at the estate, including orange juice, coffee, water, and a tasting of locally produced jams. This is followed by a guided visit to the olive oil mill, where you’ll learn about the different olive varieties, the cold-press process, and the characteristics of premium olive oil.

Next, visit the Santa Vitória Winery, where you’ll see the fermentation tanks and barrel room. The winemaking process is explained in detail finishing with an olive oil and wine tasting of 4 wines.

The experience ends with a relaxed Alentejo-style lunch at the hotel’s restaurant, served with wines from the estate, offering the opportunity to savor local flavors in a peaceful vineyard setting.

In the afternoon, the tour continues with a visit to a second winery in the Vidigueira area, selected based on availability. Whenever possible, preference will be given to wineries that produce amphora (talha) wines, giving guests the opportunity to experience two very different winemaking traditions—one contemporary and one rooted in ancient Roman heritage.

Possible partner wineries include Quinta do Paral, Gerações da Talha, Honrado Winery, and Herdade Grande, Quinta do Quetzal or Ribafreixo, all known for their quality and authenticity. This second stop includes a guided tour of the facilities and a tasting of selected wines, concluding a full day of immersion in the wine culture of Alentejo.
